Computer Plug-in
By Casey Burge
Inspired By Christen Conckles Netrunnig Rules, R Talsorin Cyber Punk 2020, and Alternitys Computer Rules.

Legal Stuff
Cyber Punk 2020 is a copy write of R Talsorin Games, Alternity is a Copy Write of TSR games, GURPS is a Copy Write of  Steve Jackson Games. And any other things I forgot. This plug-in is meant to be for free public use and if you paid for this plug-in then well I'll kick your ass before you get sued by the companies above.

Introduction
This plug-in was made to make using computers and running the net in a campaign allot easier. In this plug-in the use of TL are used allot. This plug-in will also so people how to build computers and make programs. This plug-in to be used with my Robotics Plug-in and My Up and coming Vehicles Design Plug-in.

Step 1: Computer Stats
This section will explain the computers many stats that I think they should have and you can change it. I tried not to copy any others computer rules unless I couldn't think of any other way to do it.
Complexity: This stat is how complex the computer is, this is its speed and memory capabilities.  This stat is also used to resist virus and hacker intrusions.
Modem: This is the computers internet capability. The modem is also how fast the speed of the internet is.
Intelligence: This is the computers basic knowledge that the computer knows. This is also its memory capability.
Technique: This is the computers ability to do Programs and Skills. If the computer has access to a robot with arms it can also fix things.

AIs
This is an AIs stats that it has. And is only available to AIs. AIs have the ability to make their own programs using their Technique stat, they can make any type of program but it takes the Complexity Stat-Time level in time because computers can be on 24 hours a day. An AI is actually just a hard drive, in higher TLs it could just be a chip that you install in a computer.
Presence: This is the AIs personality and sociability.

Each Stat is 5 OP each.

Derived Stats
Speed (COM/2): This is the computers basic speed. For every 2 Speed the Computer has 1 Computer Action.
Memory (INT+COMx2): This is the computers memory hard drive capability. This is how many programs your Hard Drive can Hold, The Memoryx10 is how many pages of information the computer can hold.
Program Use (TECH/4): This is how many programs at once the computer can run at once.
Net Speed (MOD/2): This is the computer net speed and is different from Speed, because the internet is a little bit slower than real life. For every 2 Net Speed the computer has 2 net actions.
Computer Control (COM+INT+TECH/2): This is how well the computer reacts with users and for every point of control you add 1 to the users computer skills.

Computer Skills
These skills replace all other computer skills in the fuzion main rule book:

Computer Operation (TECH): This is the basic ability ot operate a computer. This includes basic programing, ruining programs and any other basic computer skills.
Computer Programing (TECH/INT): This skill is the ability to make programs or re-program computers.  You have to choose one computer language and all the others one are at 1/2 the primary language:
Q Basic: This is the most Basic computer language, it is the first and is still used by most today. All program times are times by 10 because of the long code writing it takes.
Q++: This is the advanced Q language that all programers know. Computer times are x5 slower but are x1.5 stronger.
C Basic: This is the second generation of computer language and is a little bit faster than Q Basic. All computer design times are 2 times slower. But are x2 stronger than usual.
C++: This is the advanced C language and its normal times to make the program but the programs are 2.5 times stronger.
Java Script: This is graphical programing and is the most advanced programing in Tech Level 5 era. Program times are x1.5 faster and 5 times stronger than the standard strength.
Computer Hacking (TECH): This is the skill of hacking into a computer by use of the internet and computer codes. The hacker knows some Computer Programing  and hacking is a more advanced form of Computer Operation because if a program doesn't work they can hack into the program and make it better. At certain levels the hacker knows a certain amount of Computer Programing. the Hacking Skill/2 is the Computer programing Skill. The hacker also knows certain Languages at certain levels follow this chart to see which ones they know:

Language Levels
Q Basic 1
Q++ 2
C Basic 3
C++ 4
Java Script 5
Step 2: Computer Power
Power
The power needed to run the computer is the average of all the computers stats+The Number of memory Units Used that is how much Power Units needed.

Internal Battery
A Computer could be built with a internal battery (like lap tops) and doesn't need to use the power supply of a vehicle or base. It cost .5 OP per 1 Power the battery holds.

Power Costs
It cost 1 Power Unit per Hour the computer is on, It cost 1/2 the OP cost of a program in Power Units every time you activate the program, for more programs being used then it is x2 the Power Unit Cost. Example: I have a Majorly Complex Program that Cost 6 OP, so it costs 3 Power Units every time I activate the program. When all the power units are gone (because of the programs) the computer crashes, all the information is lost.

Step 3: Computer Casing
If the computer has a shell (like most modern PCs) for all its circuits and whatnot (hard drive, disk drives, video card, etc.) then you should have a casing that protects against the environment and such. It cost 1 OP per SDP the Casing has, 2 OP per 1 KD the computer has.

Environmental Protection
A computer can have protection against certain things, like water, Electrical Magnetic waves.

Electromagnetic Magnetic Waves: EM waves are very dangerous to a computers circuits, for every level of Electromagnetic Magnetic Warfare it dampens all computer stats by 2. With EM sealing the computer is resistant to this EM Warfare. This cost 3 OP, and adds 10% to the computers weight.
Water Sealing: If any amount of water gets into the CPU then the computer shuts down and you have to replace all the circuits (Stats Cost in OP). This sealing makes it resistant to all water damage. Cost 3 OP, adds 10% to the computers weight.

Step 4: Programs
This step is used to design Programs and the skills that use those programs.

Programs
A Program as 1 Stat; Program Strength (PSTR) Program Strength Cost 1 OP per Level. That stat is added to the computers TECH (or users Tech witch ever is higher)+Die roll.

Program Complexity
This how complex the programs operations are. Programs can have many types of operations like a Word Processor could be Minor But it could have a Spell Checker that Checks spelling in 5 Different Languages witch would be Majorly Complex, Then it could have an HTML program it could put HTML links Tables and Save to 5 Different Formats witch would be 2 Minor+2 Major, and the program is so easy top learn it has a Program Strength of 3. So that would be a total cost of 3.3 OP. The Programing Was Making this program with Q Basic (his first program after learning Q Basic). So the Program would take 60 days to write! This may seem long for a character to make, but it took so long in that it was Q Basic that the programing was learning and this was an advanced program to know.

Minorly Complex
This type of Complexity is performing Minor tasks like a basic calculator or a word process or a spell checker. Time is 1/3 OP as the level on the Time Chart (see bellow) per operation. Memory Cost: .2 per Minor Operation. Cost: 1 Op per Operation.

Majorly Complex
This program type is more advanced then the minor program. This type could be an operating program like a vehicle building robot in a car factory. This could also be a diagnostics or perimeter scanning program. Time is 1/2 OP as the time level on the Time Chart (See Bellow) per operation. Memory: .5 per operation. Cost: 2  OP per Operation.

Greatly Complex
This program type is the stuff Operating Systems are made of. These programs are made to operate whole computers.  This could also be an AIs Personality Program. Time is the OP cost as the Time Level on the Time Chart (see bellow) per operation. Memory Cost: 1 Per Operation. Cost: 5 OP per Operation.

Overly Complex
This program type is the core program of an AIs essence. This is the most advanced and hardest program to make. This program type is capable to run whole ships or take down an entire Armada of Star Ships with a single click (i.e. a virus that shuts down a ships power core is this type of complexity). Time is the OP cost x1.5 as the level on the time chart per operation. Memory Cost: 5 Per Operation. Cost: 10 OP per Operation.

Level Time
1 1 Phase
2 1 Round
3 5 Rounds
4 5 Minutes
5 20 Minutes
6 1 Hour
7 6 Hours
8 1 Day
If theirs a level more than 8 then add 1 day to the 1 Day time to for every Level over 8.

Program DV
A program has a DV Equal to the OP Cost+Every Day DV (10). This is the Number Your Have to roll on a Computer Programing+3d6 vs DV.

Total Memory Cost
The memory Rounded up is how much memory is taken up.

Extras
A Computer can have many things added to it. like a Holographic Interface or what not. Bellow are some examples you can do that I did with a powers plug-in.

VR Interface (TL 5+)
Instead of having the basic not graphical computer screen, you can have a Virtual Reality (its not reality, but its virtually real :). To make a VR Program you must use Java Script or you get a +1 Step to DV and 1 extra level of time needed. The VR Interface comes complete with a VR Helmet and Gloves. At TL 6 with the augmentation of Cyber Gear the character can "jack in" buy using an Interface Jack instead of having the Helmet and Gloves. OP Cost: VR Helm and Gloves are 3 OP, Jacking in is 6 OP. Software not included. The Soft ware must be 5 Overly Complex Operations or 10 Greatly Complex Operations with a Base Computer Strength of 3.

Holographic Interface (TL 6+)
This interface uses the 3d innovations of the 20th Century and put it to good use. This means the new AI machines have a way to put them selves in Avatars. The Holographic Interface is becoming the Norm in many Households, with Holo TV and playing the Old Favorite 20th Century Hit Quake is all the rage between the old folks (i.e. us in tech level 6). Cost: 5 OP for the base module, +1 OP for Sound, Smell, and even Taste. The Software for this Equipment is 10 Greatly Complex Operations Pulse 5 Overly Complex Operations. And a Program Strength of 4 or more.

Disk Drive
This an extra that enables a computer to save data to a disk (5 1/2 disk, or the smaller ones. Or even CDs). See bellow for storage rates for disks. It cost .3 OP for the big ones, .5 OP for the newer ones, and 1 OP for CDS. It weights 1% the computers weight, it cost an extra 1 OP if their installed in the CPU.

Data Disks
These are diskettes that can be used to store data. It costs .1 OP per 1 Memory the disk holds. Small Disks can hold up to 5 Memory, CDs can hold up to 20, newer types of Data Disk could be used and I'll list some bellow.

Crystalline Data
These data holders look like those new age crystals. They hold data in a 3d environment and is best used for holographic interfaces. These crystals can hold up to 50 memory. These where first introduced in TL 7.

Mini CDs
These small CDs are about 1" in diameter and can hold loads of data, by the end of TL 6 all computers use these CDs. They can hold 30 Memory and where first introduced in TL 6.

Computer Actions
Computer Actions are the same as real time actions.

Computer Program Uses
I found out that a program can be used to make powers with programs (like a techno mage's spells). These powers could be made by deciding what it dose. Just make it like a normal program by what it dose.

Example Power Programs

Fire Control Program
This program enables you the ability to make fire based powers. This is needed when making energy blasts, since the energy blast needs an SFX program.
SFX: Fire/Heat.
Program: Creates a Fire Element to any Ranged Attack (Major), dose realistic damage to the target (Great), has command words (minor).
Memory: 2
OP Cost: 8
Time to Design: 1 hour
DV: 18

Darkness Program
This program is the same as the power "Darkness" at the most minimum level (just one sense).
SFX: Any
Program: Uses Holographic Technology to Create a field of darkness around the intended target (Great), The field is real and impairs the target making him/her have 1/2 Dex, and Ref in melee, and 0 reflexes in ranged (Great), A perception roll can be made vs 20 and becomes -2 Dex and 1/2 REF in all Cases (major).
Memory: 3
Time to Design: 4 days (96 hours of work)
DV: 21
OP Cost: 11

Ranged Attack Program
This is a program that is used with the fire control program. It dose minimal real damage but is useful in a fire fight when the technomage is needed.
SFX: As SFX Program
Program: Uses holographic technology to fire a projectile at the intended target (major), the hologram is real and hurts the intended target (major), the damage is 3d6 and is stun (major).
Memory: 2
Time to Design: 5 rounds (1 minute)
DV: 13
OP Cost: 3

This is all the program I'll make I used Total Superpowers to make these programs. These programs could be unlimited in use, you could make a mimic program that copies the powers seen in action and have them stored in memory. The kind of computer I would recommend for these programs is something light and combat durable, probably something that attaches to your hand or arm.

Conclusion
Well this took me about 3 hours to put on my Page but it took me about 3 days to think of. I'm happy with it but it might still need play testing so if any one uses this plug-in and has some suggestions or comments please e-mail me and I can answer your questions.
